NOMA Joint Channel Estimation and Signal Detection Using Rotational Invariant Codes and GMM-Based Clustering

This letter studies the joint channel estimation and signal detection for uplink power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access. The proposed technique performs both without need of pilot symbols by using a clustering technique. We apply rotational-invariant coding to assist at receiver sending symbols. utilize Gaussian mixture model (GMM) automatically cluster received signals supervision optimize decision boundaries improve bit error rate (BER) performance. Simulation results show that scheme any symbol achieves almost same BER performance as conventional maximum likelihood with full state information.
